Puppy's Demise and Chacha Comes Home

Today's day has made a place in my most memorable days' list. In the morning, when I taking out my cycle, I saw my neighbour was passing through the street in his car, and then suddenly but sadly, a black puppy got smashed between the big tyre and the flat ground. I got goosebumps because I was seeing someone's death live for the first time - so heartbreaking! The puppy became silent forever and his body dropped to the ground, lifeless.

In the afternoon, my beloved Shivam Chacha, along with Somesh Chacha, came to our house. Shivam Chacha lives in my village at Agra. He had to come to Delhi for an examination. After that, he arrived at our place, accompanied by Somesh Chacha. I was delighted to spend time with them.

However, Somesh Chacha had to leave in the evening for some urgent work. Shivam Chacha played chess with me and even tried my cycle in the evening! Shivam Chach will stay with us for many days. I am thrilled to celebrate my birthday with him.

Aarav's Party and a Nukkad Natak Participation

Today I woke up early at 6.30 am. I quickly completed my exercise till 7 am, when I saw in the class WhatsApp group that the online class would start at 9 am, not at eight! I sighed and relaxed on the bed for sometime. Then I cycled for a longer time than usual, for about 30 minutes. I did not have any pressure or hurry. So, I got ready at a comfortable time.

After the classes ended at 1 pm, Mummy told me to deliver tea to the labourers working at the other house. Today the afternoon was as cool as the evening. The Sun was not shining so brightly. When I returned, I decided to cycle in the street for sometime. Many children were already cycling and talking.

Aarav, my friend, had bought some packets of chips and frooti to celebrate his birthday with all of us. He distributed the items to each of us in the street itself. I finished the chips there only, but kept the frooti for later. I wanted to give that to Papaji, who usually enjoys such things.

In the evening, our Hindi teacher told ten students, including me, to take part in an interschool street play, through an online meeting. She assigned some students the responsibility to prepare the script and background music. I am lucky that I did not get any burden because regular tests and exams are approaching in the following days, and I do not want to do irrelevant stuff. I am taking part in the play, but not bearing any of its burden.

Heavy Rain and an Icy weather

Today I woke up late at 7 pm. I could not get time to cycle as I also had to do exercise for fifteen minutes. I was ready till 8pm, when the online classes started.

From about 11 am, it started pouring. I could hear the smashing sound of the raindrops that fell on the ground. It kept on raining till 3 pm, when the street was inundated by the drainage water. Today the temperature was lower than yesterday's and there was a a wintry weather throughout the day. I can also feel the cold in the night as well.

Dadi, Baba, and Papaji had gone to the other house in the morning. They also got stuck there because of heavy rain. Dadiji came along with Papa on the bike after the rain ended. We had completed our lunch till 3pm. As a result, my study also got delayed.

In the evening, the street was wet and cool, most suitable for cycling. However, there wasn't anyone playing today. So, it was a golden opportunity to ride my cycle at top speed, feeling the cool breeze. I really relished today's pleasant weather.

Papa's T-shirt on Me Infuriates Mummy

Today was a cool and pleasant day. The average temperature did not even reach 30 degrees Celsius. In the morning, while I was attending the online classes, I could hear the sound of rainfall outside. It was raining cats and dogs in the beginning and then it slowed down, but went on for a long time. As a result, a cool atmosphere prevailed throughout the day. The air quality index had also gone below 50, which means good and fresh air.

When I was getting ready in the morning, I saw Papa's t-shirt lying near my clothes. I ignored mine and wore his shirt. It was fit for me. Usually, I wear Papa's clothes as his size and my size is almost the same. However, when Mummy saw me wearing it, she yelled angrily and said that I should change it immediately as it did not look good as per her. I denied and Papaji, who was present there, also took my side by saying that it looks fine on me. But Mummy was adamant. She kept on ordering until she gave up and made a red and fierce face, showing her frustration and hatred for me.

I, wearing Papa's T-shirt

She did not talk to me the whole day, but in the evening, I changed her mood and apologised for my arrogant behaviour. She forgave me and I promised not to irritate her ever again. Before going to play at 6 pm, she offered me a plate of Maggi. The street was overcrowded with many kids playing tag, laughing and shouting today.

Visiting My Other House after 3 Months

Today was my Mathematics exam of Cycle Test 1. Its started sharp at 7.30 am. So, I had to prepare my morning accordingly. It was very easy. All the questions seemed to be a piece of cake. This was possible only from my rigorous practice in the preceeding days. I had a great satisfaction after I mailed my answer sheet.

Online classes began from 9 am and went till 12 noon. I completed my lunch by 1 pm, so I had still 1 hour to go to study. The weather was pleasant outside, so I wanted to do cycling. But then I saw my cycle was not at home. Papaji had gone to our other house via my cycle. That house has almost done with the construction part, and only the furniture is yet to be made. Mummy suggested that I walk till there and then return with the cycle. After reaching there, I explored it from inside as I had not visited there for four months! I met Papa, and he showed me every room of the house. The walls were decorated with vibrant tiles. We will surely shift there in a few months.

I and Papaji at the terrace of our other house.

In the evening I, Dadi, Mummy, and Papa enjoyed a plate of Jalebi, which is the tastiest Jalebi I have ever seen and enjoyed. But for buying that, I had to wait fifteen minutes for the halwai to prepare the Jalebi. Then I remembered, "Sabr ka phal meetha hota hai". The tyres of my cycle had become empty, and so I refilled them with gas. Then it was being driven very smoothly. Today, our neighbour Mrs. Yadav returned from her long stay at her village. Now I am free from the discipline of watering her plants regularly!

Father Saves My Marks and a Picnic on the Terrace

Today was also a fun day because of Sunday. Unlike yesterday, today I woke at 6.30 am, not by myself but by the sound of someone's chattering.

I opened my eyes and found myself in the middle of the bed. Mummy and Papa sitting on either side and discussing something in a serious tone. I overheard their conversation and come to know that they were working out on a solution to the assignment problem of yesterday, in which my marks were reduced due to wrong attachment. Papaji said that he would talk about it with the concerned teacher.

In the afternoon, he texted the SST teacher that I had never done such a blunder before. It was the first time and maybe I had forgotten to verify the attachment before sending it. This might have happened by me in a hurry. Finally, she was convinced and resent the mark sheet with my marks increased! I am very grateful to Papaji for that. Now I will be very careful in sending my work.

I devoted most of the day to practising maths for the upcoming exam tomorrow. In the evening, I saw many children were cycling in the street, as today everyone was free from work. I enjoyed cycling for about an hour and then came back home to take a stroll on the terrace with Papaji and Dadaji. Dadaji laid on a charpai, enjoying the cool breeze. I came down after a while for studying again.

I, Papa and Dadaji spending time on the terrace. Our entire family enjoyed tonight.

At night, everyone did their dinner on the terrace under the dark cold sky. Using the light of the mobile's torch, we had our food on the chatai. Dadiji was lying on the charpai and Dadaji was taking a walk. Mummy and Papa were having a discussion. I was watching the kids playing in the street through the grill. There is a peaceful and cool atmosphere in today's night. Dadaji has decided to sleep there only. I spent plenty of time with my family tonight.

Two Old People and a Very Bad Mistake

Today was no online school because of the holiday of second Saturday. This was unexpected as in our online sessions, second Saturdays did not give us a holiday before. So taking advantage of this, I woke up at 9 am, along with Papaji, who works till late night and wakes up late. He also grew angry with me for my morning had become too late than usual.

Doing a quick workout, I rushed out in the street on my bicycle. I had just completed a few rounds when I saw an old woman, much older than Dadiji, entering the street with a supporting stick in her hand, and her back bent. She was walking as slow as a tortoise and looking here and there. I suspected her and asked,"Amma, where do you want to go?" She replied with a creaky yet bold voice she was looking for Mr. Harbir's house. Harbir uncle is the grandfather of Aarav, who is our neighbour. I continued cycling and saw that she had reached there with a relaxed face.

I had covered two more rounds, when I saw another old man coming in the street with a mask on his face, unlike the old lady, who seemed to have no fear of Coronavirus. I could not recognise the man, but then he pulled down the mask and said with a laugh,"Dev beta! Have you forgotten me?" I laughed too and said that I seriously didn't recognise him, as his mouth was covered. He was Mr. Rohtas, my grandfather's dear friend. He walked on and went inside Mr. Chauhan's house. Chauhan uncle is also in the friend circle of Dadaji. Few minutes later, Aarav and Prince too joined me on their bicycles. We cycled together for some more time until the sun's heat almost baked us. Then I came back home.

Today was no pressure or discipline of school, so I studied Maths all day for its exam is approaching day after tomorrow. However, Maths doubt class took place at 5pm, and went on till 6.30pm! I was exhausted till then. I smashed down the laptop and rushed outside for some play. I did cycling and played badminton.

I was solving some math problems at 9pm, when I was informed by Mummy that my 2.5 marks had been deducted for late submission of an SST assignment! My heart sank, and I felt terrible. I inquired about that with my teacher and got to know that I attached the wrong file. I completed that, but now it was of no use. Then I regretfully made a bold decision that from now, I will recheck every file while attaching and sending it. Mistakes happen with everyone.

Terror of Dogs and an Accidental Guest

This day has become one of my most memorable and funny day. I was cycling as usual in the morning at about 7.05 am. I turned to the right after coming out of my street. I was following the road, when I saw a black-coloured dog staring at me through the little space below a closed door and his head out. I guffawed at him and he saw that carefully. Unfortunately, he did not like it. Now you can surely think of what would have happened then! The dog barked with all his energy, which was enough to make someone tremble. I tried to balance my cycle and peddled at full speed until he was out of sight. I sighed and proceeded. After covering some more distance, I could see two dogs standing in the way and seemed to wait for me with their hungry tongues hanging out. Immediately, I took a u-turn and cycled even faster. But wait, the previous danger was still there. My brain remained puzzled until I saw a second path connecting the road on which I stood silently. I quickly opted for that and safely reached my street. I had just entered the street, when I again...yes, again! I saw two street dogs walking out of the street, following a man. But hey seemed to be silent...they did not see me, which good and I safely reached home. But that was not the end...

I stopped my cycle at the entrance of my house, and moved by leg over the handle to other side, to descend from the cycle. Just then, a black puppy caught my attention. I saw him...he saw me and that was not good. As I expected, he started coming towards me and that was not good. When he came very near and seemed to lick and bite my leg, I released the cycle's handle from my hand and the cycle dropped on the ground. I jumped at my place and ran in a circular motion. So did the puppy! I kept dodging him, but he wasn't letting me go! The situation became worse when his two small brothers also joined the chase! I sprinted to the end of the street at full speed and hid behind a car. I peeped through the transparent glass, and got terrified even more! The three had reached there too. I waved my hand to Dadiji, who was standing in front of the house. She sensed my funny fear and approached me for help. The puppies ran away, and so did I ---into my house! I had a great relief for none of the dog had hurt me. Those naughty puppies had once touched their mouth to my left leg. Then I got ready for the online classes..

Around 4 pm, I took a break from my study and went to the entrance door, where Mummy was standing and looking at the labourers renovating the house opposite to ours. Beside them stood a tall, muscular uncle carrying a black bag at his waist with a mask on his face. He looked tensed and suddenly Mummy asked him from where had he come. He gave a strange reply that he could not tell any personal information. Mummy went inside and discussed that with Dadiji. She came outside and scrutinized the person. He looked familiar to Dadi. She interrogated her and found that he was our relative. I heard Dadiji calling him Bhoora. He was actually Dadaji's brother's nephew, who had come here for some financial job. He was called inside and offered some water. After some chit-chat, he left. At about 9 am, he came again here in our house. He had a word with Dadaji and then departed.

Whatever, today was a horrible experience with those tiny yet ferocious creatures! And I'll also remember Mr. Bhoora.

Cutting of a Tree and a Giant Book

Today, online classes started at 9 am. So, I had decided to wake at 7.30 am, just one and a half hours before work. However, I was beaten by my lethargy, which made my morning fifteen minutes late. It was 7.45 when I started my workout. When the clock struck eight, I fiddled with the tiny mobile phone of Dadiji and set the alarm for 8.15 am. Why? Because I love to cycle in the morning for full fifteen minutes. I take my cycle out of the street and steer it to the right to reach the end of the road. The deeper you go there, the more view you will get of a modern village. It is the Harsh Vihar Village. Fewer trees and more buildings---more automobiles than domestic animals.

My Cycle

Tringgg...Tringgg! I returned home at the order of the alarm. Brushing my teeth, I rushed to the bathroom and came out with a fresh and cool body. I was having a breakfast of Cheela when I realised it was time for class! A very significant thing I want to tell that it was the English session today when I got motivated to write Diary Entries! This blog is the result of this motivation. At 1 pm, there was a spelling competition held on an online quiz platform. I scored 18 out of 20. One question I got wrong, put me in a funny argument with my English teacher, "Is Goole an English word?" When it was all over, I had my lunch until 2 pm, when I began doing my homework. This is my daily routine. I study each subject for fifty minutes, with ten-ten-minute breaks. This goes on till 6 pm and then I water the plants of my neighbour from the terrace because Auntiji had gone to her village.

The unfortunate tree that was cut by a selfish person

Today I was angry with the person, whosoever he is, who had cut almost half of the lush green tree that stands in front of our house. I still feel bad for its shadow-giving capability has been reduced and what about his pain? Who cares? I came to know that the person had ruined the tree for his own benefit—it would become a hurdle when his big car passed underneath it. How selfish! He could have just removed the small part of the tree, which caused him trouble---why the full half of the tree?

The Giant Book which contained designs for furniture

Anyway, after watering the plants, I took my cycle again to ride on in the street. Aarav, my small buddy, was requesting me to play with him! I tried to say no, but I gave up in front of his obstinance. So I decided to play badminton with him. Both of us hit 75 consecutive shots! And we hope to do more tomorrow. When I arrived home, I was shocked to see Father, flipping through the pages of a huge book--even thicker than 5 sandwiches! I saw that it contained preview images for door designs. I am excited that which design will they choose?
